Open Markets Welcomes Laura Hatalsky as Chief of Staff

Washington, D.C. — The Open Markets Institute is thrilled that Laura Hatalsky has joined our team as Chief of Staff. Laura will help lead Open Markets’ strategic direction and engagement in the growing anti-monopoly movement.

Laura has spent more than a decade in Washington, D.C. working on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining Open Markets, Laura was Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. She has also served as the Policy Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for the 2016 election cycle under Chairman Jon Tester.

In the U.S. Senate, Laura served as an economic policy advisor for the Democratic Policy and Communications Center under the Leadership of Senators Charles Schumer and Harry Reid and a Legislative Aide for Senator Ron Wyden. Early in her career, she served as a policy advisor to former Representatives Anthony Weiner and Mike Honda, focusing on a range of economic issues important to New York City and Silicon Valley. She holds a Master’s degree from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University.
