Retail Dive - Supply chains were made to be broken. Will the industry fix them?

 

Research Associate Garphil Julien made a featured comment on the consolidation of the semiconductor industry.

"’Semiconductors were a product the U.S. used to make in a relatively large capacity,' Julien said. 'Over the past few decades, you've seen consolidation of the semiconductor industry, the stripping of capacity, the shutdown of plants across the U.S. to a point where there are only three integrated device manufacturers, three companies that actually make semiconductors.’"
