Report | Making The Grade - A 2023 Review

 

The Open Markets Institute and Farm Action updated their report card on the Biden administration’s work to address consolidation in agriculture. “A 2023 Review of the Biden Administration’s Commitment to Food System Competition” grades the Justice Department, Federal Trade Commission, and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s progress on all the food- and farm-related directives from the White House’s July 2021 “Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy.

The report recognizes that each agency made important improvements over the past year. However, with roughly a year and a half left in Biden’s current term and a lot of essential work outstanding, all agencies need to act urgently to deliver long-overdue reforms for farmers, workers, and consumers.
